The Cave

Hi everyone, I hope you have all had a fantastic Christmas and a wonderful beginning to your new year! I haven't done any guitar tutorials in awhile, but the other day I recorded myself playing the beginning of 'The Cave' by Mumford and Sons and decided to post it here. It's a rather interesting song to play, because it is in the Open D tuning, one I don't often play in but nonetheless easy to get to. If you like this song, I would be happy to make a how-to video for you to learn how to play it. More videos coming soon!

  2. Thank-you! You should pick it up again, it is a great instrument. What style were you playing?

  3. I'm not sure what styles there are. I just played songs out of a book. I am rather busy these days and my fingers kinda outgrew our guitar. Now I have to bend em' to press the strings. :(

    1. Yes, those smaller guitars can be difficult to play if you don't have small fingers. If you ever should pick it up again, I would be glad to help in any way I can. I have thought of going into music once I graduate or possible teaching lessons, but they're just ideas right now.

I just meant classical, finger-style, rock, christian contemporary, blues, that sort of thing.

  4. I think music as a career would be great. I was mostly playing classical style. We have a piano now and I've been learning piano basics, those keys fit all sizes of fingers:)
